L'Oréal Paris Color Riche Collection Star in Pure Garnet

L'Oréal Paris starts the new year painting 2015 RED! Presenting the Color Riche Collection Star range. A rouge for every woman. Discover a shade of red that is as unique as you are! The range includes 7 exquisite matte shades that are chosen by 7 Ionic L'Oréal Paris ambassadors. 

The shade that I was sent is Pure Garnet, chosen by Sonam Kapoor.

Price - ₹995 for 4.2 gms.

The range is enriched with new Light Illum complex that delivers a rich matte effect. The Velvet Fusion capsules and Ultra Gliding Shine Oils provide smooth and silky application. My Experience

Packaging ~ The packaging is very similar to L'Oreal Moist Matte lipstick. It comes in a black and gold body with a color button. The caps are autographed by the ambassadors.

Color and Pigmentation ~ Pure Garnet is a very unique color. It looks more brown in the bullet but is a gorgeous Wine color and will really compliment Indian Skintone. It looks more purple-red as it fades. The lipstick is very pigmented and goes opaque in single swipe.

Texture ~ The lipstick has a smooth texture. It's not super creamy but glides on easily. Also it does not feel heavy on lips.

Fragrance ~ The fragrance is almost not there. Can't make it out.

Bullet Shape ~ The shape of the bullet is also quite different. Not very fond of the shape and I found it a little tricky to outline my lips with it.

Finish ~ Gives a matte finish and stays for 5-6 hours.Survives a light meal. Fades evenly and leaves a gorgeous tint behind. One thing I dislike about this lipstick or this particular shade (I have not tried the other shades) is it accentuates dry patches in a very weird way (SEE BELOW) and makes it look more dry and chapped.

~ Pretty Packaging.

~ Very Pigmented.

~ Stays for long time and leaves a gorgeous tint behind.

~ Easy to apply.

~ Does not have any strong fragrance.

Dislikes

~ Pricey

~ I did not like the bullet shape.

~ Accentuates dry patches in a very weird way.

Overall, I found the color Pure Garnet quite unique and I am happy to have it in my Vanity. Its very pigmented and stays for a long time. I just need to make sure that my lips are well exfoliated and moisturised before applying it.
