Maybelline The Colossal Liner and The Colossal Kohl in Jewelled Jade ~ Price, Review and EOTD

If you follow my blog or my Instagram Profile, you must be knowing that I am a eyeliner/kajal hoarder and love doing my eyes. Infact I  can't even imagine leaving my house without putting on kajal. So, when Maybelline came up with new eye products, I had to get them. I went ahead and bought all three New Maybelline Colossal Kohl ~ Jewelled Jade, Crushed Emerald and Smoked Silver. See my haul HERE and CLICK HERE to know more about it. But I thought the tip of the Colossal Liner was quite wobbly so I skipped it. 

But I guess I was destined to try it out :P Keep reading to know more about the liners.

My Experience

Packaging ~ Maybelline The Colossal Eyeliner comes in black sketch pen like packaging (plastic) with yellow writing. It is a felt tip liner. I gave it a skip because I thought that the tip was wobbly and I would not be able to make thin lines with it.

Surprisingly, I was wrong. I could very well make thin and thick lines with it. 

 The Colossal Kohl comes in yellow plastic packaging with writings in the color of the liner. Its a retractable eyeliner.

Finish ~ Maybelline The Colossal Eyeliner gives a semi-matte finish. I like its finish more than the Maybelline Hypersharp Liner because it (hypersharp) had a slightly glossy/shiny finish.

 The Colossal Kohl gives a matte finish.

Texture ~ Maybelline The Colossal Eyeliner has a liquidy texture. It glides on easily and takes some time to dry.

The texture of The Colossal Kohl is quite similar to Colossal Kajal in Black. It does not have a very smooth texture and needs a couple of strokes to go opaque. 

Color and Pigmentation ~ Maybelline The Colossal Eyeliner is jet black in color and goes opaque in just one stroke. I like my liner really dark and intense so I don't mind going over it a couple of times.

As the name suggests, Maybelline The Colossal Kohl in Jewelled Jade is a pretty jade color. It is fairly pigmented and goes opaque in 2-3 swipes.

Staying Power ~ Both  Maybelline The Colossal Eyeliner and The Colossal Kohl stays on my eyes intact until I remove them. I am very particular about my eyemakeup so I avoid touching/rubbing my eyes. There is just one problem. Since, The Colossal Eyeliner is not waterproof it tends to get messy or smudge near the inner corner of my eyes.

Overall, I am really impressed with Maybelline The Colossal Eyeliner. Its pigmented, jet black, I can easily make thin and thick lines (especially winged/cat eyeliner) with it. I think a felt tip liner should be a Holy Grail for Eyeliner Beginners.

The only con is that its NOT WATERPROOF which means it may not last long on oily lids. Also it tends to smudge at the inner corner.

The Colossal Kohl in Jewelled Jade is like any other retractable colored eyeliner out there in the market. It does not just glide on and also does not go opaque in just one go. But, its a beautiful color and I love having it in my vanity.
